Botox & Filler Injections

Fillers & Botox are some of the most common non-surgical cosmetic procedures in the country. These treatments are administered with a very fine needle. Many patients are surprised that the treatment is significantly different from other injections they may have had in a medical context. The treatment is quick, convenient, and requires zero downtime.

What our practice does to aid those with Trypanophobia:

It is important first and foremost to address your phobia with our practice. During the initial consult it is important to address any and all questions, fears, or concerns that you may be feeling. As a medical aesthetic practice it is important for us to fully understand our patients’ aesthetic goals and any fears they may have prior to treatment. As medical professionals we are prepared with suggestions to help patients remain more comfortable and at ease during treatment.

Tailoring Your Aesthetic Treatment

Kathryn Russo Aesthetics takes a lot into consideration when creating our clients’ aesthetic plans. Each plan is tailored to the individual’s comfort level, aesthetic goals, and beauty budget. Some treatments require larger needles, so if you have a phobia of needles, it may be necessary to consider alternative treatments. As long as the change in procedure will not greatly impact your results, we would be happy to change procedures. Kathryn Russo will go over all of your options and how they will affect your results.

Numbing Agents & Ice

Additionally we can provide ice and topical numbing agents both before and after your treatment. Although this does not always address the phobia directly, it can help decrease discomfort and make patients more comfortable during their aesthetic procedure. As always, we want every patient to feel comfortable and confident in their results.

How To Prepare For Your Injection Treatment

If you have a phobia of needles, it is recommended you block off more time for your aesthetic appointment. Having some time before the procedure can help you relax and settle in before the procedure. Additionally having some time after the treatment is recommended so you can discuss the treatment with your provider. This is especially true if this is your first time getting injectable fillers or Botox. We highly recommend booking a time where you will have time before and after the procedure so you will not feel rushed.

Other Techniques To Get Over Needle-Phobia

We also suggest breathing exercises and other relaxation techniques that are effective for self- soothing. Some clients listen to music, some clients meditate, and some clients have other techniques for calming down. These are good to practice prior to your appointment to see what works best for you. Every person is different so whether its calming music, controlled breaths, or meditation find what works best for you!

Although not a common occurrence, some people who suffer with a phobia of needles sometimes experience lightheadedness prior to or following the injection. Having something to eat prior to treatment can help prevent this.
