FAQ: Vivace Micro Needling

Vivace RF microneedling device at KDR Medspa + Wellness Boston and Newton, MA, for advanced skin tightening and rejuvenation.

The Vivace Experience is part of the newest generation of collagen induction therapy. This FDA-cleared procedure is a non-surgical option that helps our skin stimulate natural collagen that decreases the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and helps tighten/tone the face. More and more men and women are signing up for the Vivace experience, even RealSelf has ranked Vivace as better than other micro-needling options.

What Is Vivace?

As we age our skin loses its color, elasticity, and smoothness. This is namely because we are no longer producing as much collagen as we did in our youth. In the short term, there are a variety of lifestyle changes you can make that can decrease the signs of aging (good hydration, getting 8 hours of sleep, strong skincare regimens) but these do not address the root cause of wrinkles. Lowered collagen production greatly impacts our skin health. Vivace uses micro-needling to stimulate collagen production deep within the skin.

How Does Vivace Work?

Vivace uses RF or radiofrequency. Radiofrequency generates heat inside the skin that stimulates collagen production. Like many areas of our body, minor damage to cells stimulates healthy cell growth. For instance, when we workout we actually tear our muscles which causes our muscles to grow back stronger and larger. Vivace’s RF works in a similar way but instead of stimulating muscle cells, it stimulates collagen production.

Is Vivace Worth It?

According to RealSelf, their members give Vivace one of the highest “worth it” ratings of any radiofrequency micro-needling treatment.

Is There Any Downtime With Vivace?

There is virtually no downtime with vivace. Unlike many surgical procedures, after your treatment is done you can comfortably go back to work the next day if you wish.

Are Results Immediate?

Unfortunately, results are not immediate. Microneedling procedures are reliant on cell regeneration. This means it will take some time to see your full results.

How Long Do Results Last?

Patient results vary from person to person. But on average most patients see improvements lasting over a six-month period.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Treatment protocols are usually decided by the provider you go to. Many providers recommend three treatments with the treatments spaced out 4-6 weeks apart. However, some clients request only a single treatment.
