A Dermal Filler is different from Botox. Most Dermal Fillers use hyaluronic acid in a gel. Hyaluronic acid is something that our bodies naturally create and use to create healthy skin cells. However, as we age, our bodies no longer produce Hyaluronic acid at the same rate. That is part of why you will begin to notice issues with wrinkles, sagging skin, and other skin issues appearing as you age. So, these fillers replace the needed hyaluronic acid to encourage healthy skin cell development. Some fillers like Radiesse use different ingredients to encourage the production of collagen. Collagen is also responsible for improving our skin cells. So by increasing the production of collagen you can decrease the appearance of wrinkles and add volume to your cheeks and lips.
